Expertise: Good, I beat it
Cabal is a first person shooter. You stand at the bottom of the screen and mow down anything that moves. This may not sound that fun, but this game is great. I've never played a game before in which practicing it made so much difference. The reason of course is the wacky controls. Don't let them stop you though. Although the game is darn near impossible the first couple times it will get easier. I enjoy this game so much I may vault it onto the essential NES list.
Graphics and Sound: Fine
The graphics are nothing special but there is a lot happening on the screen and no slowdown. The sound is fine also, just your gun shooting.
Gameplay and Controls: Crazy but Great
The controls are difficult to master but give you a lot of options. Hold down A to shoot and if you hold A while moving the crosshair you won't move. Right and left moves your guy and B and diagonal up or down allows you to roll through gunfire unharmed. It will take a while to get used to, but trust me it's worth it!
Features: Good
2 player killing, I call that a feature. Also you can grab different machine guns and grenades. Just be careful not to shoot down your own wall with the machine gun.
Fun?: Oh yeah.
I love this game and I've only played it one player. Then again if you hate shooting games, well obviously this won't be fun.
Challenge: Tough
The early levels are easy but the later levels are tough! Guys coming out of swamps inches from your face with guns blazing.
Replay: Some
I'm not sure how much replay this game will have but even after I beat it, I foresee pulling it out on occasion for a good old fashioned killin' spree.
2 Player: Yup
I am dying to play this with Agent J, it will be good times.
Bottom Line: Heck Yeah
I would say this is probably one of the top 100 NES games. That might not sound like much but the NES has some sweet games.
